This beautiful stone ediface was built under the patronage of Lady Emma de Vesci, daughter of the Earl of Pembroke and Montgomery. The School was constructed for the education of catholic boys and was completed in 1885.
The present structure incorporates a wing which was added in 1939 by the Partician Brothers. This addition used stone from the old fever hospital, which was demolished to make way for the new hospital completed in 1937.
